Chief of Staff

Stealth

In Person

Mid

Alameda, CA, United States

Overview

An early-stage electric vehicle company is hiring a Chief of Staff to serve as the CEO’s right hand and first operations hire as the company prepares to launch an electric motorcycle in Mexico.

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role. You’ll work across strategy and execution, stepping into whatever operational gaps exist today and helping build the functions, processes, and teams needed to scale. Much of the work involves physical-world operations, including manufacturing, logistics, inventory, supply chain, and after-sales.

The company is a lean, approximately five-person team backed by significant institutional capital, offering the ownership and impact of a zero-to-one startup without the typical funding uncertainty of an early-stage company.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the CEO’s right hand and first operations hire, helping build the operational foundation of the company.
  • Own and coordinate manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain initiatives, including moving products from China to Mexico.
  • Partner with the in-country Mexico team on go-to-market execution and local operations.
  • Act as the connective tissue between sister companies, the holding company, and the Mexico subsidiary.
  • Identify operational gaps, solve them hands-on, and build scalable processes around them.
  • Help stand up functions including inventory, imports and logistics, local assembly, after-sales, and manufacturing support.
  • Manage cross-functional projects and stakeholders across multiple companies and geographies.
  • Determine where additional teams or specialized hires will eventually be needed and help build those functions from the ground up.
  • Take on new strategic and operational problems as priorities evolve in a fast-moving, zero-to-one environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, BizOps, Chief of Staff, or a similarly high-performance environment.
  • MBB consulting experience is preferred, though other strong consulting, IB, or operating backgrounds are welcome.
  • Experience with physical products or operations such as manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, hardware, automotive, EV, micromobility, or IoT.
  • Strong generalist mindset. You should be excited to work across functions rather than specialize in one narrow operational area.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep complex projects and multiple stakeholders on track.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to identify what needs to happen without waiting for significant structure or direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering or Sciences background is a plus.
  • Spanish or Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable working on-site in Alameda, CA.

Why Join

You’ll join at the ground floor and work directly with the CEO to help build a multinational vehicle business from zero. The role offers exposure across strategy, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, go-to-market, and operations, with the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on how the company is built from day one.

Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; Unlimited PTO; Competitive equity.
